Once Alexandra knew that Tahl was on the planet surface she ask the OPS officer to secure a communication with Geneva. "Captain Rofellian, it's nice to see you again. (Reply from anyone) (Posted from Laurence Durand & Patrick Buidin) Stardate:2406.06.28 Next mission title : Opportunities of engagements 10 years ago Stardate : 2396.06.28 (Dream of Zakdorn homeworld, Tahlmari, 2396.06.28) Erebou Tahlmari was completing his presentation to the delegates from the Interplanetary Tactical Advisory Coalition. He had managed to keep every last one of them on the edge of their seats. The ideas that he had outlined were, to say the least, unique, to say the most, they were radical. But all would agree, they were the most incredible, innovative, ideas that they had ever heard. Even more so, they would work. These ideas went beyond interplanetary conflicts, but also had the capacity to work with interpersonal conflicts. It was, without a doubt, one of the crowning high points of an already illustrious career. "And so my friends," Erebou concluded, "we find ourselves in the face of opportunities of engagement." The delegates jumped to their feet, giving a well deserved ovation. Erebou stood there, basking in their accolades. He simply nodded in acknowledgement. This was, perhaps, the greatest moment of his career, if not his life. He closed his eyes to enjoy the moment. Then he opened his eyes and looked to the back of the auditorium. Then his eyes fell upon the one thing that could ruin this moment for him. There stood his son. His eldest child and supposed heir of his strategist dynasty. His heart hoped that the boy had come to listen to the presentation, but intellectually he knew that it was not the case. That was when he saw the two law enforcement officers on either side of the boy. Each had a hand on his shoulders. The feeling of elation that he had just moments ago quickly disappeared. It was replaced with a sensation of dread. What had he done now. Erebou managed to maintain his facial expression as he was congratulated by members of the University Board. They had planned a reception in his honour and would he grace them with his presence. Erebou promised that he would be along shortly and that he had to collect his notes and his thoughts. They were very understanding. Finally he was alone on the stage. The constables brought his son down to him. Erebou had to give the boy credit. He was in trouble but he didn't shy away from it. He was prepared to meet his fate. The moment of pride was washed away by the overwhelming disappointment at the prospect of what he had done. He looked at the officers, who looked familiar, perhaps from the last time the boy was in trouble. "In trouble again?" he asked the constables. They nodded. "What was it this time?" The boy stood up tall as the officers reported. "We're not sure how he got in there, but he was in a secured data base of the university, and managed to input a computer worm program to the mainframe." Erebou sighed deeply. He rubbed at his eyes, then looked at the boy as if it caused him pain to do so. "What does it do?" Young Tahlmari beamed with pride. "It was designed to randomise student profiles and alter their dates of birth." The officers looked impressed and confused. The father was not so impressed, but was confused. "Why?" "Well, since the university would not allow me to attend due to my age, I thought I would make it impossible to figure out how old anyone was. And since today was my 16th birthday, it seemed like as good a time as any." Erebou became painfully aware that people were waiting for him. He was beside himself. All he could say was, "Fix it." Then he turned and walked away. Young Tahlmari bowed his head and replied, "Yes, sir." Then the father stopped. He turned and looked back at his son. "When you're done go home. Then pack your things and be gone before I get back. I do not want you there when I go home." At that he turned his back on his son for the last time. "Father," Tahl called out, to no avail. "You're going to disown me on my own birthday?" Still no answer. His father just left the room. The boy stood there for a moment, unable to move. His eyes burned as he fought to keep the tears from falling. "Well, happy birthday to me." Then he shook himself. He'd be damned if he was going to cry for that man. Nor would he take anything from him. If he was on his own, then so be it. After setting the anti-worm program to work he left the university and made his way to the spaceport. He did not go home, he did not collect any of his belongings. His family, his whole planet had long ago turned their backs on him. Now he was going to return the favour. And that was the last that young Mr. Tahlmari saw of Zakdorn. Stardate: 2406.06.29 (USS Cochrane – Crew quarters - COUNS. Lt. Cantarzini – 0900) When Rose came back, she had a few things that she brought back with her. 2 pictures of her and Drake, private communication subspace code for an easy access with Drake’s ship and a load of memories. The first few nights back on the Cochrane, she found herself missing Drake, she got used to him be by her side, to wake up in his arms. After the first week, yes, she was still missing him but made up her mind that Drake had important things to do. Since a month or so, she found herself a bit sick in the morning. Nothing serious because after an hour or so it was over, but this morning it didn’t want to go. She barely touch breakfast and made her way to Sickbay. “Dr. Weasly… I don’t feel so good!” It seem that she reach it time, because she was just about to faint when she step inside. “Good Lord! Counsellor!” He cut her just in time before she would hit the floor. “T’Simmi, help me please!” “Yes Sir!” They both picked up Rose and lay her down on the exam table. She came around by herself and look at the doctor examining her. “What do I have Doctor? I feel like I will throw up.” T’Simmi arrived with a container. “If you do, use this Counsellor.” Rose shift from T’Simmi to the doctor. “Doctor… tell me!” To her surprise, he had a smile on his face, and started to do another exam where he could see it on the view screen. “I will tell you and show you why in a moment Counsellor Cantarzini. I think it’s the first time.” He found what he was looking for and zoom on it. “First for what… I don’t understand.” She tried to look at the screen. “T’Simmi, give one cc of PGH… it will alleviate the nausea. I will give you a few recipes of natural remedies the symptoms.” “DOCTOR! TELL ME!” She said in an angry voice has she got up and sat. “You are pregnant Counsellor Cantarzini!” He showed her the baby on the view screen. “The foetus is totally normal, I’m not sure how long you were pregnant. From the size, I would say 2 month and a half, but with your physiology and if I’m right to presume that it is Captain Drake’s baby, with his biology, I’m not sure.” Rose stayed silent has she say the foetus on the view screen. She could also see the life signs, the baby was normal and healthy. “I’m pregnant!” The injection that T’Simmi gave her seem to work and her stomach started to growl with hunger. “Doctor, can you keep this information for yourself, at least for a couple of days. I want to tell the Captain and also Drake about this. I’m surprised.” “I can see that. Do you have to work today?” “I don’t have any appointments today.” “Good! Take the day off then and relax. If you can find some information about how a pregnancy goes with your people it would be nice that you transmit that to me. That way I will be able to have an eye on you and your baby… Congratulation Counsellor.” “Euh! Thank you! Can I go!” “Yes, and take it easy.” “I will, I don’t think I can concentrate on anything today.” T’Simmi arrived beside Rose. “Counsellor, I made a record on this padd with the image. Congratulation!” “Thank you!” Rose walk out of Sickbay full of questions but only one person could answer the many why she had… her mother. Communication open Sir!=^= "Thank you.... Lt. Comdr Wilson, it's captain Lowell can we talk!" Thrown by the sudden communication John leapt out of the ready room seat to his feet expecting a flag officer. once that had not occurred John lowered himself to the seat and smiled to himself. Tapping the com link John spoke. =^=Of course Captain go ahead,=^= "Wonderful! We are right now studying some of the alien ship fragments and a piece of the computer core right now. You seem to have been in contact with who ever it is and maybe have some information. I would like to suggest that we could put are heads together on this." =^=Of course Captain what did you have in mind?=^= “We will have a meeting in a few hours… at 1100 to be precise…. If you could meet us then, it would be perfect.” =^=Aye Captain,=^= John paused and considered the logistics of the matter. =^= Captain we are at Warp presently do you intend for us to drop out to perform the transports. also Captain Might I suggest I bring the senior staff from this vessel to assist in any analysis.=^= “Drop out of warp… we will catch up with you in a moment. I will inform my FO of what is happening… did you gather pieces of the alien ship or other stuff on board your ship?” =^=No Captain the Nautilus only holds crew with sensor readings and experience. There is a hull of one of the vessels in Geneva under heavy guard however on board this vessel we don’t. However I do have a unique understanding of the technology,=^= John stated preferring to give the full explanation later face to face. “I understand… your crew is welcome on board the Cochrane! When will you be in rang? I’m not on the bridge right now, my speciality is alien computer cores and I have my hands full with that one.” She chuckled. =^=We can be in range in 5 minutes ill prepare the crew for transport Captain they can relax for a bit whilst I assist you with the core,=^= John stated smiling to himself at the prospect of playing with new technology. "Okay then... I will contact my FO and tell him that your crew is coming. See you in a few minutes Lt. The response was almost immediate. ==================================================================== NAME: KEITH BRANNIGAN AGE: 28 BIRTHPLACE: SEATTLE, EARTH DUTY STATIONS: SCIENCE OFFICER - USS NIMITZ, SCIENCE OFFICER - USS COCHRANE. RETIRED FROM STARFLEET ACTIVE DUTY IN 2405.07.01 ==================================================================== White let out a long breath between his teeth. Tapping into old data told him that Geneva was new built at the time. Brannigan had actually been on Geneva for a short time while in transfer between Nimitz and Cochrane. No, not Cochrane but USS Spectre... There had been an early Science Station called Cochrane but it was destroyed. The crew boarded USS Spectre and that vessel discovered the subspace river! After being trapped in it they appeared in the Alpha quadrant and discovered an alien station that they explored. Brannigan had disappeared during the exploration. "So, what about those names? And what does "Key four" means?" A quick cross-reference told him that there was a base with three officers of those names. The base circled a planed named Kelsius-IV, shortened to K-IV. The base was DSG1 where Actun was now First Officer! Bringing up the files of the three officers provided yet another surprise. The Pilot Officer, James Gardner's file was SFI classified! Joshua tried access it when he discovered that the file was created by the Science Base Commander on Mars. "Brett? What in the name of everything is going on here?" White checked the time; 10:20. He activated the console to set up a secure line to his old boss. A minute later he saw the grinning face of Base Commander Brett Henderson." "Josh?!? Long time no see! How are you? Are you still at... Geneva, right?" "Hi Brett! Yeah, I am. Did the Runabout get back to you?" "Sure, I expected you to accompany it though. Are you planning to come back to us?" "Not for awhile Brett. I have this question for you. A name came up in an investigation; James Gardner, pilot on DSG1. It seems that you have a classified file on him. What can you tell me?" "Oh, let's see... I think it was some craft he was flying... Yeah, here it is! An advanced craft appeared, and disappeared, on DSG1. Organic structure, bio-interface... This was before we learned about the Xenolathes but in the other end of the Galaxy. We brought Jimmy here to extract all he knew about it. He should be back on DSG1 by now." White was convinced that this was connected to Brannigan now. It sounded important enough! But how did they meet? "Is there any connection to Steve Parker and Reginald Longbow in all this?" White asked. "Or Keith Brannigan?" "Well... Steve Parker was apparently the Science Officer who got a closer look at the craft but it disappeared before he could find much out about the alien technology. Nothing on the other two." White groaned. "OK, thank you Brett." "No problem, take care Josh!" White rubbed his temples. "'What we found on K-IV...' he must have been there with USS Nimitz." White looked at the logs for USS Nimitz and sure enough found a date when USS Nimitz had visited DSG1 for repairs while Keith were still onboard. White opened a link to DSG1 and his most recent boss, now FO. =^= Commander Actun here. =^= =^= This is Joshua White, sir. I have a murder case here that is connected to DSG1... =^= (USS Cochrane – Conference Room – SFI Joshua White – 10:57) Joshua strolled inside and took a place at the back, as he had the habit to do, waiting for the meeting to start. He had made small talk with the Lt. Commander and was pleased to discover that Rofellian had been promoted to captain, and was now CO of the station. Tahl had grown to respect the Romulan in their previous encounter. As they walked through the doors of the cargo bay the sight that met Tahl was, to say the least, surprising. There was debis all over the floor. Some of it was small, but parts of it were quite large. People were crawling on, over, under and through the debris. He smiled when he saw Alex. The captain had been hard at work. Her face was covered by grime and sweat. She was totally engrossed by what she was looking at. In a way, she looked like a child, looking at the presents under a tree at Christmas. Both excited and frustrated at not knowing what they were. "Oh captain, my captain," Tahl said outloud, but to himself. He smiled and shook his head. "This way gentlemen." Tahl led them to the captain. "Captain Lowell," he said most officially, trying to keep his emotions in check. he wanted to rub the spot of dirt off her nose, but managed to keep his hands in check. "Lt. From their calculations it was 1 to 5 years old maximum. The fleet was only approved 5 years ago and scrapped 6mths after that,” John paused and considered the technology he had seen. It did not make sense that it could be 100 years old did it. “Captain what leads you to make the judgement it is 100 years old? We know that the technology was not federation in origin and we do not know where it came from is it possible that the technology could be 100 years old?” Alexandra look at Tahl for a second and return to Wilson. “I’m an Archeologist and anthropologist specialist.” She guided them to a console. “It was my CSO who pointed out this to me when I arrived in the cargo bay. Those are space microbes and some of them according to are database come from the deep alpha quadrant has for a precision we can’t tell. There some pieces that are new… about the time frame you have given me, 5 years. But some are older… like this one.” She took one piece in her hand and showed it to him. “How would a rogue Starfleet agency get their hands on operational 100 year old advanced technology it would be the find of a century?” John stated millions of questions ran through his mind he knew the people present could answer only half. John moved over to Ryan. “Lieutenant have you brought your tricorder?” John questioned before awaiting a reply he spoke again. “Start scans for any residual radiation’s adherent with what we know of time travel,” (Reply Ryan) “Also cross reference with the region of space we were in. the nebula should have started a slight decay or left a marker thus the amount of time they had been there should be able to be deduced from it,” John stated knowing if there was something his science officer would find it. One of those duties is complete and all the leaks that were co-operating in its maintenance have been dealt with inside command. The moles inside command have been delft with however they do not know who they were dealing with the only persons who knew that died on the vessel when it exploded.” “Has an archaeologist specialist, there’s no doubt in my finding. I have crossed reference with the scans we made. 57% of that ship is around 100 yrs old. There are some microbes that haven’t been identified… once you find the general sector of where those little suckers come from… you can be sure that you are close to the point of origins. My hypothesis… we have something new here. I can’t also discount that it could be time travel… I guess we will know more in the next hour or so.” “Right Mr Belinia if you can tap into that computer core do it get me answers, I want to know where these ships had came from,” (Reply Belinia iyw) “The core… at least what we have of it is over here on this side. (Reply Ryan) “Captain, Command issued me with orders 16 days ago to find out the source of the Cobra fleet and wither it actually existed. One of those duties is complete and all the leaks that were co-operating in its maintenance have been dealt with inside command. However we are still to ascertain where the technology came from and who if any one supplied them with it. The moles inside command have been delft with however they do not know who they were dealing with the only persons who knew that died on the vessel when it exploded,” “Has an archaeologist specialist, there’s no doubt in my finding. Hall is working on it… I must tell you. She had the lights turn off, at least until the others would come in. The message was sent to all the senior crew to come for the meeting and report there finding. There wasn’t much in the computer core, bits and pieces of information of various section of the ship. Engines, shield settings, orders going against orders toward the end, it didn’t seem to have any pass subspace messages in there, they were probably in another core or simply erased which was more likely. She sent everything that Hall and herself found to B’Lanor. She was waiting in the dark, looking at the deepness of space. She sense Tahl walking in and he respected the darkness. She refocus on him and a wave of happiness just surrounded her like a warm blanket. He sat at his place, she could feel his eyes on her. She was happy, and that wasn’t even the right word, it was a blend of so many emotions. She extended her hand to him and he pick it up. “Do you know how much I love you?” (Reply from Tahl) “The universe isn’t big enough to know the extend of how I feel. I don’t think that it could handle the 2 of us.” Alexandra turn to look at him, there was enough light in the room that she could see him. She smiled. “I can’t wait to have some time alone with you. Talk about the next step we will take.” She heard noises outside the conference room. “They are coming!” (Reply from Tahl) “Great, It’s a wonderful idea. Computer, turn on the lights to normal settings and open the door.” Alexandra got up. “Come in people! We have work to do!” (Reply from Tahl, B’Lanor, Romonov, Dorkin, Menelian, Bell, MacRath, anyone ) (Posted by Laurence Durand) Stardate:2406.06.29 Mission: Opportunities of Engagements, day 3 Stardate: 2406.06.29 (USS Cochrane, Bridge, 2O/CSO Lt Fugan B’Lanor, 0732) Fugan stepped off the STS transporter and began to move towards his science consol when the viewscreen flashed with an explosion, he glanced up to see what had happened and watched the remenants of the enemy vessel dissperse into space; small clouds of frozen vapour coalesced around the debris. “Can we forget I just asked to board that?” Fugan faced the new officer and recognised him from the Geneva manifest as FO Lt. Cmdr John Wilson however he knew nothing further, the Geneva FO appeared to smile but his body language indicated his displeasure at the destruction of the vessel “Captain Lowell might I suggest we joint with the rest of the fleet and head home?” “It’s a wonderful idea! It’s coming to are side right now!â€? Alexandra look at the ship coming there way. “Thank you very much for my rescue Captain, if there will be nothing else I will transport over to the Nautilus?â€? " Has you wish!" She smiled. “We will see if we can get anything from the wreckage first. I doubt itâ€| but we can try!â€? "Thank you again Captain, see you at Geneva," John stated moving off towards the turbolift. As he walked the question still bugged him and now he would not get answers where had that technology come from. “Yesâ€| I can wait.â€? She saw Wilson leaving and Alexandra turn toward her chief Science officer who seem to be searching. “Anything interesting Lt. B’Lanor! I don’t think we can learn much from what’s left on the ship!â€? "You are correct captain, trace elements from the vessels hull remain however we are detecting no significant power signatures or emmissions of any kind, perhaps a thorough search will reveal something significant." “You’re rightâ€| we will see later on what the other ships discovered with what is left of this Cobra fleet.â€? She turn toward Tahl, gave him a smile and focus on the helm man. “Return to are original destination course. Same warp speed has before.â€? “Starbase Geneva, warp 5.â€? “Engage Ensign Myleth!â€? “I don’t know about youâ€| I can’t wait to be there and get off my feet and at the same time know what is going onâ€| What was that all about.â€? (reply Lowell, Tahl, Romonov, any) (posted by John Morrison) Stardate:2406.07.01 Next mission title : Opportunities of engagements, day 5 Stardate : 2406.07.01 (USS Cochrane, CO private quarters, CO Lowell & FO Tahlmari, 0630) It has happen since a few nights that Tahlmari had nightmares about his past. He thought that telling Alexandra everything would help make them go away, but it didn't. Alexandra also had a hard time believing that his own family would do this to him. It wasn't Tahl's fault and they treated him like it was. She didn't tell him that she tried to contact them, telling them what was going on, but she never got an answer from them. Not even acknowledging that they receive her messages. Her family adopted him right away, they were just to happy to see her happy, and she was even surprised that they sent to Tahl birthday gifts. Also, the 3 months they were together have been pure bliss. They never were this happy and so intone in one another. They did the dating thing, dine in public and has much when on duty. They had animated conversations, and frank laughter which sometimes brought others into their conversations. Tahl and Romonov managed to get the training fight routine back on track and once in a while Alexandra managed to go training with them from time to time. They had a blast there too, when the officers decided to go after them in a simulation. Alexandra had the idea of a once a week get together at the bar on deck 69. Patricia O'Leary had two pool tables installed, also a holographic entertainment, but after decided that it would be fun to put a kareoke system. It would seem that Alexandra and Tahl sang just has bad and some how were in tune together. It came to a time that the crew looked forward to that once an week little gathering. It was fun to see that everyone was having a good time. The major change in there lives came a month ago, when Tahlmari brought his personal belongings to her quarters and bringing them closer to the goal they had set. Now they were discovering the little things that could drive people nuts. Alexandra learned that Tahl was a bit of a slob, but like she was, leaving clothes on the floor, of the occasional used coffee cup on the table. Also, that all plant life forms were in danger around him, he had managed to kill a Vulcan cactus and those are at least twice as tuff to kill than an earth cactus. Also, Tahl seemed to be forgetful, leaving padds of his projects in the bathroom, on the sofa, sometimes even in the bedroom, she even found on in the cooler. But Tahl had good sides, for example, the day before, knowing that Alexandra had a hard day, he had prepared a hot bath, a good candle light diner, and read to her while she was soaking in the bathtub, "The Maltese Falcon". It had been a beautiful romantic evening, ending an hard day. She had just enough energy for a little love making. Alexandra could feel, on the special day of Tahl's birthday, that he was having his nightmare again. She didn't like that it all, but there was nothing to do about it except that Tahl had to fight his own demons and she was going to be by his side. She decided to wake him up and maybe change his train of thoughts which was easy and pleasant too. "Sweetheart, wake up. You are having your nightmare again." She caressed his face has she whispered. "Love, wake up." She said louder. A voice called to Tahl from deep within his mind. It was a caring, loving voice, which was so out of place for him on Zakdorn. There it was again, pulling at him. Suddenly his eyes opened and he sat straight up in the bed. He could feel the clamminess of his body, and looked around, momentarily disoriented. Then he blinked and shook his head, shaking out the cobwebs. He put his face in his hands and fought back the feeling of despair and loss, and tears. Tears that he had refused to shed for the past 10 years. Alexandra could feel his hurt and sadness in him has she waited for him and he look at her. He looked at Alex, and took strength from her. He gave her a week, tired smile. He wasn't sure why he had been having these reoccurring dreams but there was no stopping them. He felt bad for Alex, having to deal with his past in this way. Even Bob was of little help. He managed to focus his eyes on Alex and gave a heavy sigh. She smiled and leaned over to give him a kiss. He returned the kiss. "Sorry honey." “I know Love!” She whispered back. “I don’t like seeing you in pain.” She caress his face with the back of her hand. They kissed again and Tahl rolled over on top of Alex. He could have laid like that forever. He slowly kissed down her neck, not stopping until he got to his desired destination. He could hear Alex's moans as well as feel her pleasure in his mind. Alexandra felt the pleasure he was having has he took her in his arms, his kisses were just magical and relaxing. She never loved anyone so deeply and strongly before, she could feel it grow has much in Tahl then in herself. After, Tahl lay with his head on Alex's breasts. His eyes were closed, but he was not sleeping. He was just happy to be in the arms of someone who truly cared about him. A year ago he would not have believed it possible. Alexandra was looking at Tahl smiling, he was so cute like this, she wanted to kiss him and caressed his hair and face as they look at one another. Handsome, cute and they shard a bond telling each other what the other felt at the same moment. "Happy birthday Tahl! What do you want for breakfast my love. Unless you want to unwrap your gift now?" Alexandra was getting really curious, a few days ago, 3 big boxes arrived with Tahl's name. The sender was her grandparents and she wondered what was inside with increased excitement has the day of Tahl's birthday was coming. It took every once of mental control not to scan the boxes, she also knew that Tahl was playing with her and he had a surprise of his own. Tahl thought for a moment, and then began to rub his hands together with a big grin, childish grin on his face. "Oh boy, presents." It had been a long time since anyone had thought about him on his birthday. When he was much younger, his parents used to celebrate his day with elaborate parties. Once he was diagnosed with Maroni Syndrome they really just tried to ignore special days, and birthdays were just a painful reminder to them of his existence. He had known that Alex's grandparents had sent him a few boxes. He was sure that it was driving Alex crazy that he didn't even shake them to see what was in there. At one point she had left them out on the table to see what he would do. He simply moved them, carefully, to another space and came back to his work on the table. There was an obvious look of disappointment on Alex's face when she came back into the room. At the sound of his excitement Alex, also seemed excited. she came bounding in with the three boxes. Tahl looked at each of them, as if he were scanning them with his eyes. Then he looked into Alex's excited eyes. "Although," he said cagily, "perhaps it would be best to wait until after breakfast." Alex was shock about what she heard, but Tahl’s eyes told her that he was still playing her. She got up bent over and pick up another package underneath the bed. “Oh no you wont… or you will not see my gift in this nice box. I can assure you… you really, really want to see that silky something that is in there.” Tahl raised an eyebrow. He knew that Alex had been planning a surprise party for him, but didn't want to say anything. He thought it was very sweet. And nobody had ever done that for him before. What he didn't know was how they found out when his birthday was. He had put a security lock on his personnel file, so someone had to work pretty hard to discover it. It worried him that they might be able to uncover his first name. But that was erased deleted and locked under an encryption code that would take a team of vulcans a couple of months to break it. "Okay, okay," Tahl said, holding his hands up, "I'll open them now." He picked up the first, smaller box, and carefully began to unwrap the gift. He took painstaking care to undo the sealed paper without tearing. Alexandra was looking more at the package then Tahl and he was taking his time. She put her gift behind her and well out of reach of him. She saw the tag and it was from her grandmother. He open the box and inside was 2 knit sweater, but at the very bottom was a cute little ensemble… a baby ensemble. Alexandra was a bit shock and even more so of the look Tahl was giving her. “I’m not pregnant… but I think there’s a message in this gift.” Surprise was not the right word from Tahl. Shock was more like it, and then relief at Alex's confession. Tahl laughed. "A message? Really? And it was so subtle too." he said sarcastically. He put the little baby booties on his fingers and made them do a little dance. "Let's get through one crisis at a time," he said to Alex, then picked up the next present. This one was a little bigger and a lot more weighty. It also was from Alex's grandmother. "It better not be an insemination kit," Tahl joked. Again he took pains to carefully unwrap the gift. He wanted to savour every moment. He could also tell that it was starting to get on Alex's nerves, but he continued his course. After unwrapping a tall thin box, he opened it. He pulled out a statue that he did not recognise. Holding it up he hoped Alex could illuminate him. Alexandra started to laugh. “That is grandma… oh! She really, really likes you and I think she wants to be a great grandma, from the looks of it… she want that sooner then later. It will go perfectly with my gift all right.” She picked up the status. “True that we haven’t been on Risa, so maybe you don’t know what this represent… maybe you heard of it. It’s a Horga’hn statuette.” She look at Tahl who had a weird look on his face. Alexandra couldn’t tell if he knew or not the meaning of it. “I might suggest that you search the database.” She look at the statuette, caress the lines of it. “Are you okay? It seem to you have been thrown into a ride here.” Tahl looked at the statue closely. He had never seen one before, but had heard of the Horga'hn statue. Everyone seems to have heard of them. At the academy a dormmate had brought one back, but would never talk about it. he was sure it had something to do with mating, and since it was from Alexandra's grandmother it was probably fertility based. Tahl just about burst out laughing. "You're grandmother does not send mixed messages does she?" “When she has something in her mind, she doesn’t let go. It’s funny isn’t, with the number of times that I went there, I never took one. Tonight… maybe I will show you. Open the other gift now!” She bit her bottom lip and had a crooked smile on her face. “That one is from grandpa!” Tahl looked at the gift appreciatively. a gift from a male member of the family. How long had it been. He shook his head. He refused to wallow in self pity today. His life was changing and the was no longer part of that family. The box was quite heavy but small. He gave it a little shake and examined it very carefully. He sniffed it, with no result. There was no way of telling what it was without opening it. Alex's grandpa was a cagey old man who always looked at Tahl as if he were doing something wrong. He could never really tell what he was thinking about. Once again he went through the ritual of carefull unwrapping. This time, as the paper was removed he picked up all of the wrapping paper and crumpled them into a ball with an evil smile on his face. He looked at the black cube with great interest. The man had always comment on how spartan Tahl's office looked. Even with Alex's efforts to help decorate it, it still seemed baren. He touched the button on the side of the cube and a holographic aquarium appeared. There were several species of very colorful fish swimming in what appeared to be a sizable aquarium. He watched intently, realizing that each fish appeared to have a separate running program and infinitely diverse actions, and interactions. Tahl was very impressed, and he knew his holotechnolgy. "This is the most amazing thing," Tahl expressed his awe. "It must have taken him a while to put it together." “My grandfather is all patience and never say totally what is on his mind. I think I know where I will put it… remember, you will have to take care of it.” "I hope I have enough holographic fish food," Tahl replied with a laugh. He turned of the aquarium and looked at Alex. Suddenly he was very serious. "I can't believe your family did this for me," he said. "Do you even know how much I love you? “I can feel it right now… but I like to hear it too!” "Well, my dear, you are about to feel a bit more." Tahl wrapped his arms around Alex and drew her into a passionate kiss. "Thank you," he said. "This has been the best birthday I have ever had." Sitting on his lap, she started to laugh has they kiss. “The only thing left is my gift… over here, but I think it will be for tonight. Unless, your power of persuasion make me change my mind. My only goal is to make you happy.” "Oh my love, you have already succeeded in that goal." Tahl ran his hands through Alex's hair and studied her face closely. "Persuasive you say." He kissed her again, this time more gently and his hands began to move down her side. Then his kisses moved down her neck to her shoulder. He looked up at her closed eyes. Suddenly he stopped. "You now," Tahl said, "maybe I will just wait until tonight." And he moved to get off the bed. Alexandra closed her eyes feeling Tahl’s hand caressing her. The sensations were wonderful and when he stop she was a bit disappointed but then again, they had all day together. There was no rush. “I will keep this last gift preciously over the night stand. I’m starving!” "Me too," Tahl said. "How about something special for breakfast? Risan Waffles?" Tahl sat on the edge of the bed and stretched. This had the beginnings of a wonderful day. “That is a wonderful idea… I want to go explore the Geneva station and see what they have been doing. It’s your day off too!” "A day off?" Tahl sounded shocked. "Together? It's almost like somebody arranged it." Tahl laughed. "I can hardly wait." “Good, let’s eat and get dressed. I heard that they redecorated the bar on Geneva… I’m kind of curious about what they have done.” Alexandra got up and made her way to the shower hiding her anticipation for the party. “I will go take a shower.” Tahl watched her leave the room, enjoying the view. When she had left he lay back down on the bed and let out a deep sigh. He'd never had a surprise party before, so he better work on being surprised. This was definitely going to be a night to remember. (Reply from none or any) (Posted by Laurence Durand & Al Muir) Stardate:2406.07.01 Cochrane Mission: Opportunities of Engagements/For are Sins, Day 5. Stardate: 2406.07.01 (USS Cochrane, Crew quarters, Drake and Rose, 0805) Drake had pushed the chime for Rose's quarters but she must not heard it, so, he walked on in. He stood by the door watching her search for something, then the list of names came to his mind, the list that was in his shirt pocket. She was wearing what he sent her earlier and it looked so good on her as he knew it would. Where is the list of first name I dig up?" "I got it here Love" Drake said as he pulled it from his shirt. Rose, a bit surprised, look at him and smiled. She knew that he was enjoying the view he had right about now of her, so she turn around on herself. "What do you think?" "You are so beautiful love" Drake started, "Oh you mean the outfit on you?" He joked a bit before answering her, "Yes you make the outfit perfect." It was true, she brought out the beauty of the outfit and he had known she would even before he sent it to her. He walked up to her and after giving her the list, he gently put his hand out to cup her chin to raise it so he could give her a passionate kiss. After their kiss, Drake looked down into her beautiful eyes, "Now what is that you wanted to tell me?" Rose held that kiss for a moment, she had miss him a great deal and the surprise was unexpected, people could say a total accident. "You better sit down Drake, because the news could make you weak in the knees." She guided him to the sofa and let him sit first. She took position by sitting on the coffee table in front of him. For a moment she was silent. What Rose had to tell him was totally escaping him, but, he could care less because he loved her so much that the only thing that would catch him by surprise would be that she wanted him to leave. That would cause him so much pain that he would not be able to stand it. Drake sat down as instructed by Rose and looked across at her still not believing how beautiful she was and how lucky he was at the time. He had the opportunity to love three women in his lifetime and hoped that he was on the final one. "Ok love what is it?" He asked with a warm smile. "You remember 3 months ago... everything. What we learn from each other... I discovered yesterday. I can't believe it but I saw it and it's incredible. I called my mother and asked her why." She got up because she couldn't stand to be sit anymore and pace. "Even her wonder, but only through a strong link that could happen." Drake was not sure what Rose was talking about at the moment. He was not the knowledgeable about the El-Aurian race that he was a part of and she was totally. He could see that whatever it was, was exciting to her and he could not help but smile wider at her excitement. "Yesterday, I was feeling sick... so I went to sickbay. As incredible..." She sat again on the coffee table and pick up another padd that was on it. "Look at this Love!" She wonder if he would recognized that it was a future baby he was looking at or that she would have to tell him what he was seeing. Drake took the PADD from Rose but he did not let his eyes drop from hers. The love in him was boiling over and knew from what she just said what the PADD was going to show him. He beamed a smile from ear to ear at her, then, got up. He cupped his hand under her chin to pull her up to him as he dropped the PADD where he was sitting. The excitement was threatening to tear him appart, but, he held it in check as he just looked at her for a moment drinking in the reason she was looking even more beautiful than she had since he met her. Slowly, he bent down to give her a moving and passionate kiss before looking at her again. "I dont need the PADD to tell me, Love. I am so honored that you are having my baby." As he said that he knelt down and looked up at her while pulling a small box from his pocket. "I had wanted to ask you something from the day I met you, but, things just wasn't right, so, I waited. Later tonight I was going to ask you, but, it seems that now would be the best time." Drake spoke his heart and had to take a moment to regain his thoughts as he was so happy and worried all at the same time. "I know that we have not known each other for very long but I feel that I have known you my entire life and you fulfill it like no one ever have." He stopped for a moment thinking of Alex, she had fulfilled his life but not in the total sense that he had found in Rose. He knew that Alex would approve and would be happy for the both of them as they were for her and Tahl. "Please make my life complete, by not only of having my child but by accepting to be my wife." he finished as he took the ring out of the box and held it in front of him so she could see it. Now it was Rose that was getting weak in the knees, he knew, her mother was right about the link. It was chemically triggered when 2 El-Aurians make love, but 1 out of 100 wouldn't make a baby. What was incredible is that they made one in so short of time. She was just partially hearing him but the last phrase. "I want that so much Drake. I feel like I better lay down... my head is turning." Her voice was shaking. Drake stood up to help her sit down on the couch then he knelt beside her still holding her hand. "This ring is the very one that my dad had given my mother and it feels right that you should wear it." He proudly put the ring on her hand then decided also to bring the necklace out and give to her. "I once gave something to someone that I had thought was my match, it was also my mothers. I have gotten it back from her and want you to wear it." He reached up and started fastening it around her neck. "Oh Drake!" she look at the ring and after she picked up the necklace pendent, she recognized the rock. "This precious rock belong to are planet origins. Such a big piece don't exist anymore. We have to talk and think about are next steps. You know that, but for now I want to join Tahl's party. Can you get me a glass of water? Maybe you have questions?" She smiled and she was close to crying. "2 month or so pregnant and look at me, I will start crying again." Drake had already knew that she would accept but the fact that she did almost had sent him spiraling through the bulkheads. He got up and walked over to the replicator to order a glass of cool water then brought it back to her. Kneeling back beside her, he could see that the ring and necklace were meant to be together on the right person as it seemed to take on a different look than the necklace had on Alex. Them being on Rose seemed to bring their beauty out even further. It would seem to bring the beauty out of Rose more also that it seemed to take his breath away that she would look even more beautiful with them on. He knew that there was a party to go to but it had been in the back of his mind once she presented him with their child. He felt really good thinking of *thier* child, it made him want to run and scream the news to everyone, but, he kept a hold on his emotions. "Yes we have to talk about the next steps and yes we are expected at the party." He answered her but not really want to go but yet wanting to go so everyone could feel as happy as he was right now. "Questions will be later my Love." He said as he stood up holding her hand with the ring to help her up. "let us go and let them see how happy we are." Rose drank slowly the glass of water, it made her feel much better just has Drake hand hold hers. She felt his strengh, his love for her. He helped her up and suddenly she took him in her arms. "I don't want to be too early... when did you ask Alex for the necklace? When we got back?" Drake savored the fact that Rose was in his arms, then was a bit taken by surprise by her question but knew it would come. "Alex approached me after we arrived back and told me that she did not feel right in having it since it was suppose to have been for the right woman for me." Drake stopped for a moment to reflect on the conversation then continued, "I was thinking of asking her for it but she beat me to it and she was right it does look better on you. Do you mind that she had it first?" "I know enough Alexandra's character and yours... I saw you together and did observe a sort of chemistry between you two. No, I don't mind... I am not the jealous type, anyway, there's nothing to be jealous about. If I wasn't there... would you still feel that Alex is the right woman for you? Until she makes you happy, I would think so." "I can not think of you not being here and as for Alex she has found another which makes her happier than I did. It makes me happy that she is happy with Tahl, though, she will always have a place in my heart, you are the one that I hold dear there now." Drake hoped that what he just said was not callous and that she would understand what he said. Rose put down the empty glass and look at Drake with a smile. "I understand what you are saying. I have miss our closeness together like this. I don't want to steal Tahl's thunder today. I think that Tahl is going to pop the question again to Alex but in public. She doesn't know about the pregnancy yet... I don't know how she will react." "well I think maybe we should keep it to ourselves at the party, so, it will be their party. We can let them know later." Drake replied to her. "for now Lets head there or they may think we are not coming hehe." Drake said with a smile. "Yes... let's go... I think it's time!" Once she found out that the Cochrane was in the vicinity, she started planning a way to get them to help her escape along with rescuing the family. Then she found out that Wells had ordered the families execution to be moved up, so, the Cochrane could not intervene. She immediately decided to risk all and help the family by sending a message to the Cochrane with that information. She knew that by sending the message she was risking her life if Wells found out before she could leave the station. She just could not live with herself if she stood by to let Wells execute the famly without her doing something. It did in the end cause the death of the one person that knew what she had done, but, he had always liked her. She will morn him in her own way. Pat been so happy the last few months on the Cochrane after leaving the Casino Station. The crew of the Cochrane and the captain, Alexandra, had made her feel welcome since she came aboard. She was also given the opportunity to work in the Ship's bar called Ten Forward while she was there. She had gotten to know a lot of the crew since she started working there. Pat had come to like Alex a lot better than she had before as they had a lot of talks while she worked. Their conversation ranged from the past, Drake and what happened to him, Alex and where she had been after Drake also why they were not together, Pat and what caused Pat to come to the Casino in the first place, to what opportunities there was in the future for Pat. Pat had informed Alex that she would tell her later what she would do, as Alex had offered the bartending slot to her as long as she wanted it. Now they had arrived at the Starbase Geneva and there also was a lot of opportunities that could open up for Pat. She decided that she would possibly inquire descreetly as to what she might be able to attain. Pat had found out that Alex was preparing to have a birthday party for Tahl her First Officer and future husband while at the station. She had then made plans to do something for him that she knew that Alex would have fun with. Patricia entered SeaQuest in her gypsy outfit after having so many strange looks from the people she passed on her way. Her skimpy outfit was of many colors, but, she did have the sense to cover herself before her trip to the location of the party. As she had entered she found who would be doing the playing of music during the party and gave instrutions on what she wanted done and when. She also tipped the individual a generous amount to ensure that they would do as asked. She had then moved to a place that would not immediately show that she was there and what she was wearing. She then saw Alex and Tahl enter the establishment and watched where they sat. She smiled as she watched Tahl sit down with his back to her and Alex was facing her. Pat knew that once Alex saw what she was wearing, she would make sure that Tahl's attention was on herself, so, Pat could make her way to them without him noticing. Pat removed her outer garments to reveal her belly dancing outfit then made her way quietly close to where Tahl was sitting with Alex, before signalling to the band to start playing. Pat started a slow seductive dance around the pair to the sound of gypsy music. She danced slow circles around them and wound her scarf around Tahl's neck seductively while looking closely into his eyes. Sitting down close to his lap and started a slow gentle gyration of her hips as she bent backwards holding onto his shoulders. She could tell that Tahl was trying to hide whether he was liking what she was doing or not because of Alex. This made her get more amorous with her dancing to help him squirm in his seat and smiled at Alex as she passed behind Tahl. Pat saw that Alex was having a fun time watching her and how Tahl's reaction to Pat. Pat noticed that the music was coming to an end she made sure that she ended at his feet between his legs and she looked up at Tahl, "happy birthday Tahl" she said with a laughing smile. She had in her eyes that she was happy in the dance and that she had gotten him for Alex. (reply from Alex, any, and especially Tahl, any from Geneva that are in there,8-)) (posted by Frank)
